Juvenile Iceland Gull

A decent morning at Barking Creekmouth with 2 Peregrine Falcon, 4 Grey Wagtail, 10+ Chiffchaff, Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Oystercatcher and the Juvenile Iceland Gull showed well sitting on the tanks of the sewage works.

Brent Geese at Blue House Farm

On Saturday morning at Blue House Farm Essex along with a small group of SCRG members we caught 16 Brent Geese including 7 Juv's using 2 canon nets and a couple of decoys.

 Despite getting up at 3.30am the day went very well and all the team played their part in a good and quick net extraction. All birds were ringed and coloured ringed.

We ringed another 2 Yellowhammer on Saturday morning at our site but with 9 being seen around the area things are looking very good for this species locally and hopefully more to come.

Sunday morning I went along to PRO's farm with Paul H, Max and Co for some more ringing but this time around the woodland. Highlights were a young Male Sparrowhawk, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Nuthatch, GSW and another Yellowhammer.

Southend Pier

A long walk out to the end of Southend Pier and along the sea front on 29th December produced the following images.
